18 Remember not the former things,
nor consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
As we have entered this New Year, in order for our lives to be any different than the previous there are certain perspectives that we must let go of. Today we reflect over the same scripture because this is something that we must understand to walk in the purpose and destiny that God has for us.
Somebody today needs to know that while there are things in our past that it would be easier to go back to because it was comfortable, because it was familiar, God desires for you to keep moving forward.
The truth is that God has something greater for you than what you left, something greater than what you lost, something greater than what you have experienced but you've got to trust Him for it.
You will never be able to embrace what's ahead, constantly look at what is behind. Remember not the former things nor consider the things of old. God was always in the future, He was always doing something new. So we've got to change our focus- instead of looking behind and even looking around, we've got to start looking up and looking ahead.
Reaching requires letting go. There are something that you are unwilling to let go and as a result, its causing you to miss what God is now. It says, "BEHOLD I AM DOING A NEW THING." God wants you to know, He is at work in your life!!! The question is then asked, "DO YOU NOT PERCEIVE IT?" God asks the question, do you not see me doing a new thing in your life?
I often look at how I've seen God move in the past as way of encouragement about what I know He's able to do. This scripture says I don't want you to just see what I did, I want you to see what I'm doing NOW.
God is making a way! God is opening some doors! He's doing something greater than where you have been, greater than where you are, but you have got to trust Him for the grace to move forward.
Your commitment cannot be conditional. You have come too far, to start looking back.
